Castor, Head Ram
Castor is the Big Man on Campus, and is the father of several of our Flock. His favorite things to do are ram his shelter, eat peanuts, and look majestic.
Falcor, Cuddle Bug
Unlike most alpacas, Falcor’s favorite thing in the world is a good cuddle. He was sick several years ago and now walks a little funny, but he’s always up for exploring the paddock and keeping watch over the Flock.
FancyPants, Guard Llama
Fancy is a grumpy old lady who is spending her retirement with us, technically as a Flock guardian. Her favorite things are feed pellets and apples (Honeycrisp is her preferred variety).
Demeter, Queen Bee
Demeter rules the roost here at WOF. She leads the Flock when it comes time to graze, or time to come in to supper. When she wants cuddles – which is all the time – she will push the other sheep out of the way so she gets both hands giving scritches!
Eek, Gentle Giant
Eek watches over the feathered portion of our Flock. He always shares his food with the hens, except bread. He’s slower than the gals, so when the bread comes out a piece is always saved special for him where the hens can’t get to it. He’s a farm-blend breed and one of only two chicks hatched from our own eggs.
Linda, Chief Shepherdess
Linda is a shepherdess and alpaca keeper, and she’s been obsessed with fiber arts for more years than she cares to admit. She knits, spins, and weaves. Linda is married to an amazingly patient husband who never does more than raise an eyebrow when she brings more fiber into the house. In addition to the fiber animals she has a dog, two cats (well, only two if you don’t count the barn cats), and a flock of chickens. Somehow, she fits a day job in the mortgage industry into her busy farm life, but really, she’d rather be spinning or painting (or in the barn, or knitting, or… …).
